This is a tribute mix to Yoko Kanno, probably the best known and most influential anime soundtrack composer. In this mix are tracks by Yoko Kanno and tracks with which Kanno had something to do with via collaboration. There is a little of everything in here, from chillout and electropop to guitars and jazz. Due to so many different genres being mixed here many transitions are far from perfect. Some are good. Some are awful. The main idea of this mix was to get her best work in one place, not so much to make a technically flawless mix. Music wise, Yoko Kanno delivers. Her works are blends of so many different genres that it's impossible to place her under one genre. In fact, many poeple refer to her music as a genre itself, a "Kanno" genre. This mix is divided in two parts for convenience, but they are meant to be listened to as a single mix.
